Born on August 29th 1982, raised in Southern Ontario I spent a great deal of my youth outdoors, in awe of the beauty of nature. When I wasn't outstide I was usually drawing. I fell in love with sound early on after discovering the piano at one of my parents friend's homes. Upon first contact I spent hours bashing the keys and playing glissandos up and down, enthralled with the variety of emotions that could be expressed through different combinations of keys. Shortly afterwards I started taking lessons and practiced my way up to a Grade 8 level in the Royal Conservatory of Music. When I was in middle school I became interested in jazz and picked up the tenor saxophone which I started in fifth grade and played throughout highschool. Early in my highschool experience I realized that performing rock music seemed a lot more fun than the stuffy recitals that the highschool band offered me and I purchased an electric bass. I fell in love with the deep powerful sounds that were soon emmanating from my amplifier. This led me to electronic music. The aboslute control that synthesizers allow the performer to have over timbre and pitch and the new and unique sounds that could be produced made me feel that this was the future of music and that I was very lucky to be alive in a period of time that this technology was being produced and improved at an incredible rate. I started composing my own music in my mid teens and although visual art was still a huge part of my life I eventually decided to pursue my education in music and headed to Boston to attend the Berklee School of Music. While at Berklee I learned all about jazz and classical theory and harmony, aquired an enormous base of synthesis knowledge, advanced my playing skills, studied with incredible educators, and performed with a bunch of bands...most notably with kidnapkin, all while continuing to develop my artistic abilities.

I graduated in August 05 with a Bachelors of Music majoring in music synthesis. Now living in Toronto Ontario I have been working with Douglas Romanow at Fire Escape Recording since 2006 where I have learned a great deal about the production and recording aspect of the music industry and recorded a lot of great canadian music. I continue to work there as a freelance recording engineer. Also after assisting acclaimed Toronto Jazz Trumpeter and composer David Buchbinder), with a film scoring project (recording most of the music, working on charts and even contributing sound design) I have applied the knowledge to many short independent films that I have composed for. Performing my own compositions as The First Seedin various venues around Toronto has also been very rewarding and crowd response has been encouraging. Many releases coming in 2010 in various styles as well as visual art shows! Check back for more updates soon!
